Antique Victorian Crescent Extender With Old-Cut Diamonds And Opals | Lucille London

This breathtaking statement Victorian crescent moon boasts 3.65 carats of magical white opals that display an excellent play of colour, flashing a kaleidoscopic array of rainbow hues as they catch the light, including electric blue, yellow, orange, pink, purple, green, and fiery.

Set between each of the eleven opal cabochons are two old-European cut diamonds, perfectly placed to highlight the opals and dazzle you with their sparkle. The colourless diamonds are of an excellent cut, colour and clarity, estimated to be a total of 1.2 - 1.5 carats, and have clearly been meticulously selected for this design; the diamonds placed on the outer side of the crescent are 0.03 carats larger than those on the inner side, highlighting the size graduation of the oval opals and enhancing the graceful curve of the crescent moon.

The exquisite Victorian-era crescent moon extender, converted from its original brooch form, has intricate detailing on one side, guiding light through the pendant to the opals, creating a magical play of colour. This incredibly detailed element is a rare feature that enriches the opals and diamonds fabulously.

At both tips, a bail has been added to allow you to connect your chains.  You can attach your dog clips and bolt rings to the bails, and thread chains through them to wear charms nestled in the crescents curve for a really mesmerising neckmess.  Or, wear her as a pendant and attach your charms to the bails; there are so many ways you can style this one-of-a-kind piece!

The original brooch pin has been converted for use as the pendant bail at the back, which is a double bail and incredibly secure.  A unique design feature in this conversion is that the pendant bail folds up into the underside of the crescent so it doesn't protrude from the piece when you wear her as an extender.

Heaped in history and beauty, the precious gemstones in this Victorian-era crescent moon pendant are original and in excellent condition.

A rare collectable piece, it's increasingly hard to find antique crescents featuring opals and diamonds of exceptional quality, and this pendant is particularly special due to the kaleidoscopic opals, old-cut diamonds and the statement oversized crescent design.

You will fall hopelessly in love with this breathtaking piece the instant you lay your eyes on it.
