A beautifully weighty antique gypsy ring, set with a rich oval ruby framed by two old cut diamonds; a timeless trio with serious presence on the hand.
The central ruby displays a gorgeous, deep “pigeon blood” red tone, with chunky antique facets that catch the light in a soft, romantic way. Flanking it are two old mine-cut diamonds, each hand-cut with broad, irregular facets, one with a slightly larger table, giving a subtly moodier tone, the other brighter and more lively for contrast. Together, they create that perfectly imperfect antique balance we all love.
All three stones are flush set into the gold, giving the ring its classic gypsy profile: smooth, tactile, and incredibly wearable.
Stamped with a crown ‘18’ and a leopard’s head (London assay marks). A solid, characterful piece with a beautiful patina that reflects its age.
Excellent antique condition. Stones show some natural inclusions typical of their age. One diamond has a pinpoint nibble close to the bezel, only visible under magnification. The gold retains a lovely soft patina. Minor surface wear commensurate with age.
A classic, easy-to-wear antique that looks just as good worn solo as it does stacked into a heavier gold moment.
